Friday and Saturday Post

Good morning! Once again, I am catching up from my post from yesterday.

5 Hobbies:

1) My kids! Anything related to my kids, I love. My favorite thing in the world to do is spend time with them and do things they enjoy. I do not like leaving my kids behind to do things. I don't like for them to spend the night places. I don't like when I need to leave them to make money. I just like to keep them with me. They are my life, my very, most favorite hobby in the world!

2) Working out! I LOVE to workout. I love to lift weights, run, walk, bike, etc. We took the boys for a "power walk" Thursday night. We went in Connie's neighborhood and walked 2 miles. On the way home, we stopped at a neighborhood playground. While the boys played, I used the picnic table to do tricep dips, ab in and outs, inclined pushups and then I used the patio section to do walking lunges. I was getting in 2 of my favorite hobbies at the same time!

3) Reading. I love Christian love stories, Christian mysteries, reading for my Bible study, reading blogs, etc. I try to keep in the Christian area of reading. I have found that when I read others that my mind doesn't stay as pure as it needs to. Generally, there is foul language and unChrist-like things that happen. There is something about reading Christian novels (or series) that keeps me encouraged, uplifted, and in the right frame of mind. I also love reading for my Bible study. I am learning so much and find that I am enjoying the need to dig deeper and research in depth, etc.

4) Shopping. I really and truly do love to shop. Any kind of shopping. I even love to grocery shop. I look forward to it each week. I love to shop for other people. I find sooooo much joy in searching for that perfect gift. I love to shop for certain things I am on the hunt for. I love to shop for decor and renovation pieces. I love to shop for clothes and accessories.

5) Cleaning. I know, it sounds crazy, but I am a clean freak and I LOVE a clean house. I particularly love to sweep and vacuum. Haven't we had this discussion before?!!? There is something so fulfilling about seeing yucky floors with crumbs and whatnot everywhere, and then having a clean floor!

For today, I am listing the dynamic of my childhood versus now.

For obvious reasons, it has changed.

I think now, my parents and I are friends. Growing up, the were my parents. Not my friends. They had rules and when I broke those, there were consequences.

My siblings and I argued and fought and tried to get one another in trouble. Now, my siblings and I (although my brother and I are not too close since he moved to TX and we only see each other about once a year) try to help each other out. If there is a problem one of us has, we know we can call up the other one to get it off our chest. When my kids are sick, I can call up my homeopathic brother and get advice on herbs and home remedies. When I am upset about things, I can call my sister and get it off my chest and just have her listening and supportive ear. I hope they feel the same way about me. I am blessed with such an awesome, supportive family. The love we have is unconditional. We may do things that upset, irritate, or flat out anger others each other, but we can always count on the love we have for one another. Isn't that what family is all about? In the end, your friends will come and go, but your family will always be. Soooooo thankful for my family :D
