I'm pretty proud of the fact that I have stuck with this challenge for 17 days :-)
What is the one thing I wish I was great at?
That is easy for me to answer. I wish I was great at singing. I'm not even remotely good. I wish I was one of those ladies who makes everyone's mouth drop when I open my mouth. I know a couple singers like that. You could listen to them forever and never tire of it. I would LOVE to be able to sing like that... or I would even take being able to sing decently. LOL.
It has been a lazy day. I did not go get my pedicure this afternoon because my husband had to be at the house for plumbing and sheet rock. So, I will prob go tomorrow or Monday. I baked a cake for my MIL this morning that we are having for my SIL's birthday party tonight. They stuck and there was absolutely no way to salvage them, so I had to start over. It was red velvet cake and she didn't have enough red food coloring for me to make another cake. She and I text back and forth and decided I would just pick 2 colors and see what happened. I decided purple would be pretty. When I was mixing the batter, it was midnight black. WHAT?? I know that red and blue used to make purple. What happened??? It is for my SIL who is turning 25 or 26 (I think!) and is about to pop with baby. All I could see was her getting her feelings hurt thinking I had made an "Over the Hill" Black Velvet cake for her. Anyways, once I added some flour and buttermilk, it turned to a deep purple color. I am finding it funny though. Only I could take a task as easy as making a cake and screw it up!
I am wanting to go to the house tomorrow and see the progress. Brent says it is moving along and I will be impressed. I keep dreaming of what it will look like and how I will rearrange furniture, etc. I go window shopping to look for decor and needed items. We got rid of "junk" before we moved in hopes of buying newer and nicer things. It has been fun to shop around looking for items. It is also almost time to start Christmas shopping. I LOVE to Christmas shop. I have many new stores to shop at this year and I am pretty excited about what I might find.
Tomorrow, we are visiting a church in town that I heard wonderful things about before we moved. I meet there for my weekly Bible study and I am really excited to see what we, and the kids, think about it. I am grateful that the kids have gotten some what used to the church and the Children's wing. Hopefully it won't seem too unknown or new tomorrow. I feel like all I have been doing lately is taking them to new places and throwing them in while I turn to leave. Dane has no problem with me doing it, he is my leader and independent child. Webb on the other hand, screams and cries and holds on to me. He is my following, clingy child. If he could stay with Dane, he would do great. They hold hands as we head to childcare and each time they have to let go, Webb breaks down into tears. It is so hard for this tender-hearted momma.
Well, I haven't showered for the day yet and since Webb is sleeping and Dane is chilling, I think I will take the opportunity to shower ALONE--- which never, ever happens :-)
